The Automotive Safety Council’s 2012 Annual General Meeting will be another can’t-miss event with our usual roster of outstanding speakers, including IIHS President, Dr. Adrian Lund; NHTSA Deputy Administrator, Ron Medford; Research Director of JARI, Dr. Koshiro Ono; Director University of Michigan Trauma Center, Dr. Stewart Wang; Dr. Secretary General ENCAP, Dr. Michiel van Ratingen; Executive General Manager Honda Motor Company, Tomiji Sugimoto; Road Safety Director FIA Foundation/WHO, Decade of Safety, Dr. T. We are again fortunate to be able to offer the highest caliber of speakers at our events, beyond the largest industry conferences. This year’s meeting is at a great venue in Scottsdale, AZ - the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa - featuring world-class golf at the back door, luxury accommodations and a full range of services and amenities, adjacent to the upscale Kierland Commons shopping and dining venues. Of course, when we are done meeting for the day, the Scottsdale surrounding area offers a multitude of outdoor, historical and cultural opportunities to enjoy including hot-air balloon rides at sunset over the desert; lazy river rafting down the Salt River, surrounded by the natural desert flora and wildlife; rugged Jeep four-wheeling in the desert; shopping in Old Scottsdale; tours of the Desert Botanical Gardens or the Heard Museum of Native American History; and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin Home and Design School. Plan to arrive early or stay late and add a visit to beautiful Sedona or the Grand Canyon or take in some games at Major League Baseball’s spring training camps. No matter how you choose to spend your free time, you will have a great experience in addition to hearing the latest in auto safety from the world’s top speakers.
