WASHINGTON, D.C. December 1, 2004 -- The Automotive Occupant Restraints Council (AORC) has elected Wendell C. Lane, Jr. as chairman of its board of directors. Mr. Lane is Group President, Seat Belts and Steering Wheels, North America, for Key Safety Systems, Inc. He is responsible for the sales, marketing, engineering, and operations of these two major business units.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Automotive Occupant Restraints Council (AORC) presented its highest honor, the Pathfinder Award, to Dr. Kennerly H. Digges, nationally known safety researcher and director of biomechanics and automotive safety research at the non-profit National Crash Analysis Center (NCAC) at The George Washington University's Virginia campus. The award was presented at the AORC's annual membership meeting today.
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Automotive Occupant Restraints Council (AORC) today commended the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee for including a provision in reauthorization legislation for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) which would incentivize the use of seat belts by drivers and passengers.
